About the Symposium
Germany is one of the most important European countries in terms of commercial transactions and trade with Portuguese businesses. German investments made in the Portuguese territory have also a crucial impact on the Portuguese economy. It is therefore very important to understand how arbitration can be used as a mechanism to solve disputes arising from those investments and commercial transactions, as well as to analyse and understand the differences (and similarities) between the two legal systems in order to build bridges to overcome the diversity of legal frameworks,
institutional settings and practices in international arbitration.
